OCC Announces Cleared Contract Volume Declined 10% in March while Securities Lending Rose 18%
OCC announced that cleared contract volume reached 379,763,970 contracts in March, representing a 10 percent decrease from the March 2011 volume of 421,466,054 contracts. OCC ended the first quarter with total volume reaching 1,068,689,268 contracts, exceeding 1 billion contracts in the first quarter for the second time in history.

OCC Announces 2% Decrease in Cleared Contract Volume in February while Stock Loan Activitiy Rose 7%
OCC announced today that total cleared contract volume in February reached 351,702,360 contracts, representing a 2 percent decrease from the February 2011 volume of 357,275,834 contracts. OCC’s year-to-date total contract volume is down 7 percent from 2011 with 688,925,298 contracts.

OCC Cleared Contract Volume Declined 12% in January
OCC announced today that total cleared contract volume January reached 337,222,938 contracts, a 12 percent decline from the January 2011 volume of 381,558,077 contracts. Despite this decline, January 2012 is now the third highest January volume on record.

OCC Announces Retirement of Bill Navin, Names James Brown New General Counsel
OCC announced today the retirement of Bill Navin, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of OCC. Mr. Navin joined OCC in July 1999, but was previously OCC’s outside counsel at Schiff Hardin & Waite. As a Schiff partner, Mr. Navin represented OCC since its inception in 1973.

OCC Cleared Contract Volume Reached 4.6 Billion Contracts in 2011 for Record Year
OCC announced today that total cleared contract volume in 2011 reached 4,600,955,949 contracts, a 17 percent increase over the 2010 volume of 3,925,686,805 contracts. 2011 marked the ninth consecutive year of record volume for OCC and the first time cleared contract volume surpassed 4 billion contracts.
